Sericulture: new source of income for ARBOs

DAR Sorsogon saw new source of income for ARBOs through Sericulture as Leonito M. Gaveria, OIC Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II guests in the last day of Sericulture Training of Sorsogon Sericulture Farmers’ Association (SSFA) in Juban, Sorsogon, courtesy of the Sorsogon Provincial Agriculturist Office.
“This is an indispensable technology which we would like for our Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations to learn,” said PARPO Gaveria.
Sericulture is the rearing of silkworms for the production of silk through their cocoons. This knowledge was introduced by Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, La Union whom Fidel S. Orense, Jr, PARCCOM Member in Sorsogon invited to impart the technology to the association.
